In 1807 Giuseppe Bertoleoni took possession of the island Tavolara. In 1836 Carlo Alberto ,
Prince of Carignano . Arrived to Tavolara and met Paolo , Giuseppe's son.
They become friends and Carlo proclamed Paolo “The King of Tavolara”
and he become owner of the island. Later the Prince sent a parchment as a confirmation
of hi rights , signed by Prefecture of Sassari.
When the Queen Victoria of Englend arrive whit her ship to Tavolara , she took a picture of the descendants of the King. That picturewas framed whit gold and was
displayed in the Buckingham Palace whit a notice:
”The smallest Kingdom in the World.”
Now the island is visited by many tourists and the descendants
will take you around this wild island with their boats.
